About us
A UK onchain forensics practice
Wallsec investigates what happened to funds lost through cryptocurrency fraud. We follow the money across public ledgers, document the route it took, and produce a structured report that you and your advisers can act on.

What we do
Every case begins with a triage review of the material you already hold: your timeline of events, the addresses and transaction hashes involved, and any correspondence with the platform or individual concerned. From there we reconstruct the movement of funds across the relevant networks, identify the services and clusters they passed through, and record each finding with its supporting reference so it can be independently verified.
The result is an evidence pack: a written narrative, a diagram of the fund flow, and an annexe of transaction-level references. It is yours. We send it onward only when you instruct us to.
Where the findings support it, we also help clients take the next step towards getting their money back: preparing and supporting the reports and requests put to exchanges, banks, regulators and law enforcement, and working alongside your own solicitor. Whether funds are ultimately returned rests with those bodies and the facts of each case, so we make no promises about the outcome.
How we operate
Evidence, not promises
Our output is documentation: traced fund flows, counterparty attribution where the data supports it, and a written report you can hand to your bank, exchange, adviser or law enforcement. We never state or imply that funds will be returned.
Your data stays minimal
We ask only for what an investigation genuinely needs — public addresses, transaction hashes and your own case documents. We never ask for private keys, seed phrases or account credentials, and we do not contact third parties without your instruction.
Honest scoping up front
If the onchain data does not support a traceable case, we say so at triage rather than after you have committed. We do not take cases we cannot meaningfully progress.
After the report: pursuing a return of funds
Investigation is the first half of the work. Once the tracing is documented, most clients want to know what can actually be done with it — and that is where we stay involved. A report on its own rarely moves anything; it has to reach the right desk, in the right format, with the transaction-level references that let someone verify it quickly.
We prepare and support those requests with you, respond to follow-up questions from the institutions handling them, and keep the case file updated as new information comes back. Whether funds are returned is decided by those bodies and by the facts of your case — we make no promises about the outcome.
Step 1
Requests to the exchange or service that received the funds
Where funds reached a regulated exchange, custodian or payment provider, we submit a documented request identifying the deposit addresses, timings and transaction hashes so their compliance team can review the receiving account under their own procedures.
Step 2
Bank, card and official fraud reports
If money left through a bank transfer or card payment, we help you assemble the evidence your bank needs for its fraud or reimbursement review, and prepare the report for Action Fraud or the equivalent authority in your country so it carries a usable reference number.
Step 3
Civil routes through your own solicitor
Where the sums justify it, your solicitor may pursue freezing or disclosure orders against identified counterparties. We supply the underlying analysis, flow diagrams and source data, and answer their questions on the findings.
We never charge a fee to release funds, and we never ask you to send cryptocurrency to us at any stage. See how the routes work in detail.
Regulatory position and fees
Our work is charged as a fixed-scope investigation, agreed in writing before any chargeable work begins. The initial case review is confidential and carries no obligation.
Where a case needs legal or regulatory action, that is carried out by your own solicitor, your bank or the relevant authority — with our report as supporting material. Any fees for that onward work are agreed directly with that provider.
