Gas sponsor

In one sentence

An address that pays activation or fee costs for other wallets, often revealing common control.

New wallets frequently need funding before they can transact. Whoever provides that funding leaves a permanent record connecting themselves to every wallet they activated.

In practice the sponsor graph is often more informative than the transfer graph, because it is administrative traffic the operator had to create rather than deliberate misdirection.
