Mixers deliberately destroy the deterministic link a trace relies on. Depending on the design and the volume passing through at the time, some statistical association may survive; often it does not.
An honest report says which of those two situations applies. Claiming a confident link through a mixer where the data does not support one is the fastest way for an evidence pack to be discredited.
