Transaction hash

Also called: TXID, Transaction ID

In one sentence

The unique fingerprint of a transaction, used to look it up on any block explorer.

A transaction hash is a fixed-length string produced from the transaction's contents. Change anything and the hash changes, so it identifies one specific transfer and nothing else.

Hashes are the backbone of an evidence pack. Every claim about where funds went should be attached to a hash a reader can paste into an explorer and verify without trusting the author.
